RE:Electricity and Hydrocarbons
RE:Electricity and HydrocarbonsTotal electric transportation although a pipe dream and unrealistic in so many ways has been in motion for many years now with mega money invested in this shift and uneducated politicians jumping on the bandwagon thinking it sounds great. There is a lot of money pushing that narrative and they are not about to pack it up and accept defeat to rng and hydrogen as better options. Though I agree with you it's a much more realistic solution.

Also Total Electric Transportation for cars, buses, and trucks. It's a pipe dream, especially in transportation with the need for batteries and lithium to make the batteries work. Expand Renewable Electricity to replace the electricity generated by coal burning power plants--coal is more polluting than natural gas burning power plants. The most plentiful non-fossil fuel hydrocarbon is Renewable Natural Gas. There are thousands of organic waste site (farms, municipal waste, landfills, food waste) that are releasing biogas into the environment. Capture the biogas, use Biostream to convert it to Renewable Natural Gas, and you have a Negative Carbon, Near Zero Emission Renewable Fuel for transportation. The remaining digestate after capturing the biogas from the waste can be used as high grade organic fertilizer. It's not Rocket Science. RNG deserves recognitition by politicians and environmentalists as a truly Renewable Energy Source that is much more enviromentally friendly than Renewable Electricity.
