Cool so a little covering but not much

That's about 2.8% of the shares shorted.  I would tend to believe this represent retail shorts covering. The big SHORT did not  make an attempt to cover during the last 2 weeks of March, the move up was just buyers going long and not any short covering. There were about 26.5 M shares traded in the last 2 weeks of March. At least the hedge fund did not increase it's short

Lastly, given the short volume at 3.95M shares in the last 2 weeks of March and a net decrease in the short of about 300K, it shows that 3.65M shares were shorted and covered within that 2 week period. One's position or thesis (to be long or short) on a company does not usually change in 2 weeks, that's just manipulation of the share price, selling to drive it lower than buying back when

Don't know why you're being dismissive. Yeah, the 10M short position did drop 300K, not the reason nor magnitude you had thought. Average 2 week volumes from Sept. 15 to March 15 have been 11.6M shares. For the last 2 weeks in March the volume was 26.5M shares. Essentially none of the increase in volume was short covering by the big SHORT. The humoungous volume we saw was longs

Sorry Ciao. Didn't mean to sound dismissive, but now I see what you mean. Frankly I'm happy to see that the short interest only declined a hair. That's very good news. There remains a large pool of people who know this company well, but have yet to be converted to shareholders.

No worries. It's good that they didn't really add to their SHORT poslition.  It would have been great if they started to cover.
