Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Rio Tinto Plc may make a bid for Xemplar Energy Corp., a Canadian uranium explorer, the U.K.'s Sunday Express reported, without citing anyone.
Rio is watching Xemplar ``carefully,'' the London-based newspaper said.
Xemplar has found a site in Namibia that may contain more uranium that Rio's existing Namibian mine, the newspaper said.
Rio is waiting for independent verification of the find before deciding on a bid, the Express said.
Nick Cobban, a spokesman for Rio Tinto, said ``we never comment on this sort of speculative story.''

Absolutely incredible how frequently clowns show up on these boards!
Can't imagine what purpose is served in surreptitiously posting some weak rumour from 2 years ago--particularly when it had no credibility back then.
It was all part of fuelling the promotional frenzy during that outrageous $8.00 charade they pulled off. It was quickly determined to be nonsense then, and is even more so now.
I'm not sure if its sad or humorous.
A very poignant reminder for those who weren't present to watch them in all their glory, that their strong suit always was mining for $$money$$.
