No Need for lumber in Western Canada?

Gee I would have thought that building material manufacturers would be seeing a bit of an uptick given the damage the flooding has done. Not much love for the new bullboard format

This quarter I am more interested in the amount of OSB shipped! A nice steady increase in board feet will relay more of a positive message than the fluctuations of the osb market!

there is alot of impetus for ainsworth shares (and all osb/timber/lumber) to go higher imho   1-regardless of lumber prices, which are off significantly from highs recently, it is too early to ...more

No you are wrong.  With the Fed starting to talk tapering bond buying, mortgage rates go up, new home buyers ease off and home prices go down, means lumber and OSB goes with  them.   It ...more

Q2 is now complete. And the average benchmark price is $380/mbf. Last quarterly was $415 and the q4 for 2012 was $333. So profit wise, our bottom line should be very good.

The price is up because the NAHB housing report came in very stronger today. All the lumber companies are up today.

Investing in a stock based on market irrationality is silly.  Trading a stock based on market irrationality is smart.  If this goes over $4...I will be short at some point.
