ONE word; PRICE. It is cheaper to ship the DRC cobalt over here for refining, than mine the cobalt here. Period.

They are most likely a DECADE away from any production, ie; mining ore, and thats IF they even have a mine/reserves. SO much work to do and money to be spent, before they will have anything to sell

I dont understand how in one breath Musk states the below, but then all this cobalt funels from DRC to us here with a new refinery.. so tesla then buys from canada the refined cobalt and its not

Nonsense...you know not what you speak...Glencore loaned FCC $5M for the refinery, and will supply the cobalt from their DRC operations. NO ONE is that deep into the refinery for costs.
