I'm just reading anouther source than one I was on, it does say CN is paying CP, so your correct on that. I'm pretty sure KCS has already broke the deal with CP due to the deals terminaton

It has not been paid yet, as the decision on who wins the fight is not over. However, it is not an even deal. While the Kcs balance sheet may be even, Cn,s balance sheet is out $700,000

In my understand technically KCS already has or will pay that fee to CP. CN is gonna pay the fee back to to KCS which will go on their balance sheet, which CN is purchasing, so in the shell

Not often mentioned is that CN will have to pay CP the $700 million breakup fee if they do not accept the CP offer.

Going down because now CN will have to issue 90 million new shares for the KCS shareholders and come up with $18 billion in cash to pay them their $200 per share cash. But it's all temporary

As of right now, Union Pacific is the largest railway company in the world with a market value of 75.4 Billion. CNR is second at 51.6 Billion. This deal with make CNR the largets railway in the world

Future for railroads is bright
All these consumer products in high demand like copper, lumber, oil etc all have to be moved by rail whether cn or cp get the deal, there is lots of cake for everyone took a positon in cnr today

ghost Thanks. The icing on the cake is that CNR put share buybacks on hold after the announcement they would seek to acquire KSU. So they won't be taking advantage of any drops in the share price

i bought shares at 137 thinking it was a great entry point probably is long term Havent owned this in years I bought because its land corridor is so under valued This is a pipeline
