I think the company wants to reduce the common share dividend (without saying so) and is taking action to justify doing so next year. Don't forget that they have a boat load of preferred shares ...more

The last one dollar dividend BCE paid was 4 weeks ago when the sp was $46. So shareholders received a dollar div and lost over $7 in value.  Yup! How can you say no?
