no problem.... a rights issue is not like a spin-off where the original securities book value changes... instead, your cost in ans shares stays the same and you book 100% gain on the sale of ...more

you are taxed as capital gains on 100% of the procceds of the sale of the rights... meaning, your rights had a cost of $0.00 and any and all proceeds of the sale are taxable as capital gains ...more

It looks to me that the OISB train has left the station.  I don't think you have much more upside in this stock.  It can't push through $4 and hold it.

Yes I see it is at 3 percent.  For some reason, I didn't think there rates were so high.  I can't see them maintaining that given they are a major exporter.

Riddle me this....why are speculators driving up the Australian $$?   The Australian $ is a marker for commodities?  This market is f'ed up.

Right. I have learnt to keep an open mind and will do so......I do look at 200 day moving averages bollinger bands, etc. and use this info to see where a stock has been and where it is trading in ...more
