BMO transactions show all amount is paid as Intrest, and they withdrew %15 as Non resident tax! What changed?

To the best of my knowledge, no withholding tax on dividends applies if securities are purchased on the Toronto Stock Exchange, even though dividends are paid in USD!!

It all depends on the account that it is held in. No withholding tax if held in RSP. In a TFSA or non-registered account withholding tax applies. To the best of my recollection: At one point TD was ...more
