It is the distribution from March 2020 that was defferred due to the pandemic. Depending on the type of account there may be tax implications. This issue was discussed at some length on this board a ...more

Tax Refund?

I was looking at my account and noticed I had some money deposited by HOT.UN with a description that sounds like some tax refund from 2018. It was done on Jan 20.  Anyone else get this?

Begs to ask why they dragged it down to 3.50 only to push it back up, obviously there is interest.. So they came out with a good quarter, and then sells it back down to 3.50, if you dont like the heat ...more

@flamingogold: I was supporting your point about sentiment. As far as I can see HOT did better than a lot of the other US based hotel REIT's but it's SP is not recovering as much. I expect ...more

As I was saying... sentiment... despite increasing occupancy rates the sector is still out of favour. But, I believe that will soon change. I picked some up in the mid $3's in Dec and will pick up ...more

I wonder why it is then that Hotel REIT's trading on the NYSE are trading between ( Back at ) pre covid levels to 20% below pre covid levels. (One (HT)  at -33% ) while HOT is still only ...more

If you're in the US you are not living under restrictions. But, here in Canada many places are shuttered, here in Ontario indoor dining is closed, no gyms, theatres closed, no fans at sports ...more
