PPL planning to spend $350 million on share buy back. Buying 6 million share out of 555 milli9n shares is a drop in the bucket.  I think this strategy is miss guided  Why not pay down debt. ...more

For the most part I agree, but for me, losing the monthly compounding of the dividend hurts as I DRIP. From a cash flow perspective I agree it shouldn't matter.

That's actually a good point on quarterly being the norm for TSX blue chippers. Of our 16 stocks, only 3 pay a monthly divy and 2 of those our REITs (where monthly is the norm). The other is KEY ...more

I am not very happy to go from a monthly Dividend to a quarterly Dividend. The obvious advantage of a monthly dividend was  1) Reinvesting it monthly and 2) Monthly budgeting Not too impressed ...more
