The concern is when the NAV gets reduced as a result of paying out the dividend. This would likely include paying from capital gains as that is included in the NAV when rebalancing the portfolio

jjmax, when they say ROC are they not referring to capital gains as a source of earnings? I have no problem with fund managers paying out dividends from capital gains. Here is a segment from BNN's

My simple logic which often is too simple is:As Eden writes monthly at 10% out of the money that should give us some monthly upside if and when it comes.AS far as ever selling at a premium

I still find it amazing that we can still get yields of 16%(HEF), 17%(HEX), 18%(HEE) and 19%(HEP).Take a look at the portfolios of each fund. All solid mostly blue chip Canadian stocks
