Some News is out!!

Some News is out!!Mr. Jeremy Caddy reports TUREE CREEK URANIUM PROJECT GRANTED Aldershot Resources Ltd., further to news in Stockwatch Dec. 21, 2004, has been granted exploration licence 52/1763 within the state of Western Australia. The tenement, 110 kilometres west of the Newman township in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, is owned 100 per cent by the company and covers an area of approximately 100 square kilometres. The tenement covers the contact between the Kunderong sandstone (Bresnahan basin) and the metasediments and volcanics of the Wyloo group (Ashburton basin). Exploration by Noranda and Plutonic during 1972 to 1982 identified near-surface uranium mineralization in the Kunderong sandstone. The company's senior uranium geologist, Ian Faris, a qualified person, reports as follows: "The history of the Turee Creek prospect is well summarized by Noranda in the introduction to an open-file report submitted to the Mines Department and dated October, 1981. It is reproduced below. "Uranium mineralization at the Turee Creek uranium prospect was discovered during field investigations of radiometric anomalies detected by a 1972 airborne radiometric survey along the Lower-Middle Proterozoic unconformity within the Hamersley basin of Western Australia. "Investigations in 1973 outlined a body of secondary uranium mineralization, estimated to contain approximately 560,000 tonnes of uranium mineralization at a grade of 0.08 per cent U308. The mineralization occurs within the Middle Proterozoic Kunderong sandstone. Stewart considered the mineralization to be formed by redistribution and concentration during Cainozoic to recent weathering cycles. In 1980, a review of the records and inspection of the property suggested that broad aspects of the regional geology of the Turee Creek area were analagous to the Athabasca basin of Canada and the Alligator Rivers region of the Northern Territory. In addition, the Lower-Middle Proterozoic unconformity beneath the secondary uranium mineralization appeared to be untested, and that known secondary uranium mineralization may represent leakage from a concealed body of unconformity-type uranium mineralization at depth. "During 1981, a program of ground and airborne electrical geophysical and magnetometer surveys, designed to outline geophysical targets which might indicate the presence of concealed unconformity-type uranium mineralization, were completed. In addition, the results of geological mapping at the prospect were integrated with regional studies in the area. "Subsequently, Battey et al. in Australian Uranium Resources, published by the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources, Resource Report 1, 1987, reported 1.05 million tonnes averaging 0.035 per cent U3O8. "The estimation of grade and tonnage predates the Australian JORC code and should only be considered an indication of the tenement's potential until the results can be verified. "The 1981 geophysical surveys undertaken by Noranda identified three anomalies that required ground follow-up. One anomaly was tested by a single 40-metre-deep percussion hole without success finishing in chert and siltstone and the ground was subsequently relinquished. Since that time Noranda (1994) and Acclaim Uranium NL (1998) have reviewed the model and history and undertaken some resampling (gold and uranium) of existing drill core that resulted in no significant changes. "Aldershot considers this to be a highly prospective tenement. It has significant uranium mineralization at surface and an untested target at depth. Although reference has been made to the potential of the unconformity to host significant uranium mineralization and analogies made with the Athabasca and Alligator uranium models by previous explorers, the unconformity has not been drill tested. This will be the initial focus of Aldershot's exploration. "Historical exploration results are currently being compiled in preparation for the design of a field program to commence in the second quarter of 2006."
