Mr. Dave Palmer reports
PROBE MINES COMPLETES DEEP EM GEOPHYSICAL PROGRAM ON MCFAULD'S LAKE PROJECT
Probe Mines Ltd. has completed a deep-penetrating electromagnetic geophysical program on its 100-per-cent-owned McFauld's Lake project in the James Bay Lowlands of Northern Ontario. The program comprises over 60 line kilometres of surveyed grid covering approximately 930 hectares underlain by volcanic rocks surrounding the company's recent high-grade copper volcanogenic massive sulphide discovery. Preliminary interpretation of the earliest data indicates that the discovery zone is over 400 metres in length, and at least one other conductor has been identified along the geological trend from the discovery zone. The survey was read with the InfiniTEM EM system of Abitibi Geophysics, Quebec, a new method of deep-probing EM that has been successful in identifying VMS deposits to over 300 metres depth.
Data from the survey are currently undergoing final processing and interpretation; with results expected by mid-January. The data will be released as soon as they are received.
A diamond drilling program is currently being planned for early in the new year to further delineate Probe's VMS discovery, and test additional geophysical targets. VMS deposits tend to occur in clusters, and other geophysical anomalies in the area represent a strong potential for the discovery of new VMS deposits.
