YUINMERY URANIUM PROJECT GRANTED
January 4, 2006 TSX.V SYMBOL:ALZ
Jeremy Caddy, President of Aldershot Resources Ltd (the “Company”), is pleased to report that further to the Company’s news release dated December 1, 2004, Exploration Licence 57/593, within the state of Western Australia, was granted on October 14, 2005. The tenement, 65 kilometres south of the Sandstone township and 175 km southwest of the Yeelirrie uranium deposit, is owned 100% by the Company. It covers an area of approximately 99 km2 on the western end of Lake Noondie where uranium was explored for in the 1970s.
Ian Faris, the Company’s senior uranium geologist and a Qualified Person, summarises the details reported previously as follows: “An indicated mineral resource of 1.58 million tonnes with a grade of 0.37 kg/t U3O8 using a 0.25 kg/t cut-off, has been described in a 1988 company report lodged with the Western Australian Department of Industry and Resources. The resource is reportedly open to the south and west. The drill spacing is relatively wide, 200m x 400-800m, and infill drilling was recommended to upgrade the resource. The tenement also covers a large radiometric high that extends 7 kilometres southwards from the known mineralisation to a southern arm of the lake and a second calcrete drainage. Away from the known mineralisation, numerous radiometric spot highs have been reported but testing has been restricted to only a few shallow pits. One of the larger spot highs, near the southern calcrete drainage, returned an assay of 0.42 kg/t U3O8.
“Historical open file company reports and publications are being compiled and incorporated into a database in preparation for a forthcoming drilling program. In addition, the potential for deeper targets associated with redox fronts within the lake sediments will be assessed. As the historical results and resource have not been confirmed they should only be considered as an indication of the tenement’s potential until the results can be confirmed.
“The Yuinmery Project, like the Company’s other WA property, Turee Creek, is an advanced project having known uranium mineralisation and a well defined target that will be ready for drill testing in 2006.”
