RE: weve caught upNSU is far more advanced than Sunridge with production supposed to come onstream this quarter in Mali in addition to what is also supposed to be a world class discovery at Bisha in Eritrea.
The mgmt of Sunridge are mainly ex-NSU guys and share prices of both NSU and Sunridge, after taking an immediate dive, have been in the doldrums (though currently in recovery mode) since the Eritrean gov't froze the mining operations of a half-dozen or so mining companies over a year ago. The Eritrean gov't has admitted that was a mistake and has assured the companies that won't happen again.
I think many investors who hung in (like me) have used this recent run in Sunridge to sell and recuperate funds that were in serious doubt in the not-too-distant past. I also think insiders at Sunridge have likely used the opportunity to get a long awaited payday given the fact that times have been pretty lean over the past couple of years.
I exited Sunridge on this run though certainly concur with Dines that the company has considerable merit over the long term. I have added to NSU recently and think it is the better of the two, given the runup in Sunridge that NSU has not experienced comparitively, over the short to intermediate term.
