GOLD NEWS. . Not Compelling; Political New Is I found the gold news not compelling for future investors nor shareholders. A previous notion to combine with NOM might be a good ides. The copper is OK but the highest gold is only .84 g/t. ASD is trying to define the extent by stepping out but these values still seem low. What is more bothersome is that the announcement implies that drilling had stopped and will "commence" again by the end of the month and that NO date is given for when the 43-101 can be expected on the 2004/2005 drilling program results. Any really positive news will be delayed until to April/May of 2006 as some previous posters have indicated. I am not currently an ASD holder nor a basher but follow ASD because I would like to see Regents take over ASD's Red Mountain claims for a song after ASD defaults on the options payment. NOBODY else but Regents is interested in these claims since Regents surrounds the area. ASD seems cash poor and what concerns ASD's management is certainly not Red Mountain and payment to renew those options but rather the investment in Peru and the election news from South American and specifically that from Peru. Flores is not running much ahead in the polls. From Kitco: "Perhaps the most important country investors in mining equities should follow is Peru. On April 9th, Peruvians will go to the polls to elect a new president. Lourdes Flores, the frontrunner candidate who is pro-business, is locked in a close race with former military rebel Ollanta Humala and several other candidates. Humala is the one guy readers should pay attention to as he has already found staunch supporters in Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales. According to Resource Investor, Humala has “threatened to review contracts of companies, arguing that they don’t meet tax and royalty obligations and extract minerals and hydrocarbons without benefiting local communities.” Nearly every major mining company is producing, exploring or developing in Peru these days, so what happens in April could have a huge impact on mining equities.
