Bloomberg - Asia- Cu still going UPI suggest EZM breaks thru $1.80 on Monday, basedon Asian action this morning. Wheather it sticks or not, is anyone's guess. Read below: Copper Futures Rise to Record in Shanghai on Investor Buying, User Demand Feb. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Copper futures rose to a record on buying from investment funds and on demand from processors in China, the world's biggest consumer of the metal. Processors, such as cable and wire makers, usually increase purchases of copper to prepare for the peak annual consumption period from February to May, said traders including Gu Yuan, from Star Futures Co. Copper stockpiles in Shanghai fell to a three-month low of 51,343 tons on Jan. 27. Copper for delivery in April rose 1,830 yuan, or the daily limit of 4 percent, to 47,600 yuan ($5,909) a ton on the Shanghai Futures Exchange in its first trading day after the Lunar New Year holiday. Copper prices in London and New York rose to records during the break. ``Funds are buying and China's demand is still healthy,'' said Wang Zheng, a trader with Dalu Futures Co., by phone from Shanghai today. ``The sharp rise was to catch up with gains in London in the past week.''
