RE: You make some good points RedOn the contrary, public protest is the very common in Mongolia. We've seen it reported for over a year now. Public protest played a part in the break from Russia in 1990. Taken in perspective, this is news the M news media chooses to print because it is exciting. You do not hear about how the IVN based economic help in the Gobi is changing health and welfare among the people involved. Too boring.
Its the same everywhere. Imagine if all the world only had the Drudge Report or Hollywood Entertainment rags judge what was going on hereabouts.
Re: Klein comments...You know the NGO's are despised by a growing group of native citizens in the countries where they operate and for good reason. Talk to an educated person from a third world country who is not on the take directly or indirectly from an NGO and they will tell you that. They are like a secular version of the colonial missionaries....destroying local economies and cultures. This Klein fellow is a leach living off of government grants. Its the way it is in that world. But he gets good play with his 1970's rhetoric. Again the press.
My opinion take it or leave it....
