RE: UBS>>>>Hey DAbromov, it's familliar of you to post of Caspian oil. Somebody i know of, had a lengthy theory about that geographical location and it's investment value. It was some time ago and it's been established that it was a right decision. Your going pretty far back for a topic to converse about - there is much relevance in that discussion, to what investments one should of made? Talk about being ahead of the curve eh? Some journalists received promotions for digging just a little deeper than others. The topic would be foriegn to most but you're different.<<<<<
Jan,
Caspian Oil has been prized throughout eastern Russian and Central Asia as one of the most valuable natural geological reserves in the world.
In the early 20th century, due to minor tectonic movements, oil would be spurring out of the soil and people would be running screaming that "black water is upon as again".
The reserve is immense and upon the fall of the Soviet Union, Azerbaijan, one of the former USSR republics has seen enormous private investment coming in from European & American oil giants such as Chevron, Exxon Mobil, BP, etc.
Truth be told, I do not believe that true value of Azerbaijan's oil reserves have been recognized. In fact, I believe this to be so true that geopolitically it is logically THE MOST friendly nation to the US in that region should military action be considered. Recognizing its geographical and political environment, it is easy to ponder the idea of major corruption at the helm of the government's elite.
In fact, this is true. However, they do realize that they can not reap the benefits of their resources alone. Thus, they welcome private investment and reap unparalleled rewards as a result.
Therefore, as my closing arguement, I believe that Arawak resources, "ABG" on the TSX will be THE premier company to bet on should an "oil crisis" hit us this summer again.
Take it as you please. I'm not trying to promote that company in any way as I have no interest (i.e. no shares) in it whatsoever.
Back to the topic of UBS: How low do you think she'll hit before the next NR?
I say 12-13 cents is in order. LOK.MV and LOK.SV will see their respective share prices to fall to the 10 & 9 cent levels respectively.
Just my point of view at least.
D-man.
