The way I see it is that as bad as things are with a single watchdog things could and likely would be worse. Why? At present with a number of commissions each one in doing whatever work they do has to think of how its actions or non-actions will look in the eyes of their peers in the other jurisdictions. If you combine it all into one then that check will no longer be there. Since Ontario's Bay Street Protection Commission is the biggest of them, its approach would likely dominate the central body they want to create. At present, I have more trust in the Quebec and Alberta (despite the problems they had last year) commissions than in the King Street Whitewash Brigade. JMHO
