RE: they blew it......again.OTC reminds me of a drunk who stumbles out of a bar and trips on the stairs and almost breaks his neck. He blames the owner of the "establishment" for building stairs of such poor quality. He of course never blames himself, brushes himself off, and starts towards the street. He walks into a parked car sets of the car alarm and blames the empty car for getting in his way. As he curses at the car, he walks backwards into the busy street and gets nailed by an uptown bus. Because he is inebriated beyond comprehension he somehow survives, he extracates himself from the bumper and windshield of the bus, ignoring all the blood and gore that has shocked the driver and passengers, and he's still cursing and thinking everyone is out to get him. It's everyone else's fault and never his.
"In looking at why we didn't get to the high end of the range it was the slipping of a number of large deals," Shackleton added. "What we saw this quarter was government spending being delayed."
It's always "spending delayed". Shackleton has been using this excuse for the past 2 years! When is he going to come up with a different song? He never blames himself for the mistakes but it's always the market with sales being delayed.
I think it is time for Shackleton and the rest of the cronies at Open Text be given the boot, or should I say the "bear". I think we should all chip in with whatever money we have left from our Open Text debacle and give the OTC board members a free trip to Churchill Manitoba. We just won't tell them what it's for. The inuit (eskimoes) have a tradition where they put the old and the sick out on an ice flow in Hudson's Bay. It's the only humane thing left for Shackleton and his team. But shareholders are not without compassion. Since it could be lonely out there on the ice, I also think we should put a couple of polar bears out on the ice with them. Sort of like a "bear picnic".
