Strateco delays Matoush results until early May
2006-04-11 13:39 PT - News Release
Mr. Guy Hebert reports
URANIUM IN THE OTISH MOUNTAINS
All holes drilled to date on Strateco Resources Inc.'s Matoush uranium property have intersected the uranium-bearing structure discovered in 1984 by hole AM-15, drilled by Uranerz Exploration and Mining. Hole AM-15 returned a 16-metre intersection grading 0.95 per cent U3O8 per tonne (19 pounds per ton) at a vertical depth of 220 metres.
In Stockwatch on March 27, 2006, Strateco announced its intention to release its initial drill results around mid-April, 2006. However, due to very high levels of radioactivity registered along the length of mineralized section in each hole, Strateco was obliged to implement standard safety measures prevailing in the industry. Among other things, these measures prohibit the handling of mineralized intersections for a minimum of two weeks after they are extracted to allow time for radioactive gasses, including radon, to be released.
Consequently, initial chemical analysis results will not be available until early May, 2006. The samples will be analyzed at the Saskatchewan Research Council laboratory in Saskatoon. This world-renowned laboratory processes the samples of various uranium mines located in Saskatchewan.
