Sector Sell-Off
Sector Sell-Off
The fundamentals that drove the commodities market are still there. Oil production is fragile, gold is in demand both as a retail metal and a replacement for yankee dollars, silver production cannot keep up with demand, and the net world supply of other resource metals is dropping each year.
The sell-off was profit-taking by savvy investors who decided to take some money off the table. Smart move !
Speculators will be back in as they load up at the lower prices and the cycle will start again. (I consider the stocks I own as good investments and I see their recent pull-back as a buying opportunity)
What cannot be predicted is when the big guys will decide to move the market again.
CLL is one of the stocks I consider a good investment with a big future upside. How far down the road a significant move will happen is difficult to predict, but I think the question is when, not if. There are some big guys "playing" with this stock and it will probably take some "great news" to overcome their influence. (Maybe EUB approval will do it.)
As for Mr G. Don't know the man and I have no opion on his performance. However a leader in his position has a difficult time pleasing all of the investors, all of the time. Day traders love the volatility, swing traders like to see the ups and downs and the buy-and-holders want to see a steady rise in SP. At any one time some investor is going to be unhappy.
P.S. Investing 101 says don't let emotion get in the way of intelligent trading. Some of the posters on this board are really emotional about CLL as exemplified by personal attacks on other posters. Chill, CLL is a stock not a loved-one.
