9 Flags to Help Spot Message Board ScammersDon't think there are any idiots here, unless the old adage "it takes one to know one" holds true, which might be true for those who neither can spell nor write coherently.
Actually, someone here fits almost all 9 the red flags for spotting message board scammers:
1. Someone who hyper-posts on only one stock. [always]
2. Someone who uses multiple identities. [don't know]
3. Someone who repeatedly attacks or belittles others on a stock's message boards. [almost always/often]
4. Someone who emerges as the stock's moderator, or even the leader of the discussion group on that stock. [probably not, though seems to try]
5. Someone, with a short history in their member profile, who suddenly shows up during a stock run-up, and appears to know "all about" the company. [yes]
6. Someone who is nearly always the first to respond to company developments. [always]
7. Someone who continuously hints at upcoming news and unannounced contracts. [always, although so does herbacious and pinnocchio, but herbacious is quite perceptive]
8. Someone who hypes the company during the run-up and then "changes" his/her mind and begins attacking the company, its insiders and the project. [for sure]
9. Someone who goes out of their way to find bad news about the company and makes a "case" out of it. [too often]
I think this defines are certain someone rather well. We now know who he/she is. I'll let you know within the next 30 days. Please feel free to identify.
