Perhaps not, but after announcing he would contest Wellington’s declaration of default, he caved in pretty quickly. Don’t forget the correction to the April 7 PR (the demand for payment) deleting the second paragraph in the original. He didn’t stand up for the shareholder and I’m not convinced the attempts to find another buyer, a new investor or new financing were all that aggressive. I suspect Wellington struck a deal with him and he took the easy way out.
As for Clifford, well he was stupid to get into bed with Wellington to begin with. He is a naïve fool whose company shouldn’t have been listed on the market to begin with, or at the very least should have been put under review the moment the Wellington deal was announced. The sad thing is he was rewarded for his stupidity and incompetence.
