RE: The Goose? She is cooked...>>> "3 D? Well, you need the expertise to know how to interpret the seismic date properly - it is not the drilling, it is WHERE to drill!!! To read the seismic is an art and takes a lot of experience. " <<<
3D seismic...an art?...takes lots of experience??? Hardly.
The types of 3D datasets that will be produced in this area will be so easy to interpret it won't even be funny.
Any kid 2 years out of university will be able to map these structures with no problem at all. We are looking for "bumps" here, elephants...structural plays.
The 'art' comes into it when you're talking about stratigraphic plays and smaller features. Seismic interpretation in the Alberta Basin today is more like the 'art' (and there are kids 2 years out of university interpreting THAT as well), the big structures are all drilled and now we're looking for table scraps.
They'll shoot some 2D lines across existing production to calibrate what the producing zones look like and what kind of amplitude response hydrocarbons provide; they'll also shoot some 2D across the Biryuche #1 well to calibrate the amazing reservoir intervals; they'll shoot the 3D and look for "FLT's" funny-looking things, ie bumps and bright spots.
There's no mystery here, when they start shooting 3D's they'll have no trouble interpreting them and picking locations, ie. "WHERE to drill!!!"
BTW, I was on vacation and missed all the fireworks. I'm disappointed but am a long term thinker and can afford to wait. Note also, drilling results aren't the only thing that can move this stock, announcements of deals, farm-ins, option agreements, etc can give us bumps in the meantime.
Recall we were at 1.43 long before we ever had any drill results.
Licking my wounds, Opa.
