by product The statements tranquill made are quotes from the Mawson website I believe and you may inturpret them as you wish.My view on the Tsjo property is speculative, that more drilling has to be done to define the target.Go to the news release dated Jan 5,2006 for confirmation.
Mawson stated that Uranium mineralization is associated with the phosphate-bearing mineral apatite, which constitutes 9 per cent to 20 per cent of the rock and calculations indicate that the uranium grade of the apatite is 0.16 per cent. What intrigues me about this property is the fact that it is similiar( as stated by Mawson) to the Florida phosphorite uranium province, which contains the largest uranium resources in North America. In Florida, uranium occurs in carbonate-fluor-apatite at a grade of 0.007 per cent to 0.0125 per cent U3O8 (average 0.009 per cent) and has been recovered as a byproduct in the manufacture of phosphoric acid fertilizer. In 1988, two phosphoric acid manufacturing plants recovered approximately two million pounds of U3O8 (21 per cent of United States production for 1988) from the phosphate rock mined in Florida.
Tsjo is a vast area that is underexplored. When the drills are finished drilling then we shall all know if Tsjo is a viable project.
