ganzer--yes once a big chief, always a big chief HA! seriously i'm noting that RUSAL's billionaire-in-chief is related to the VERYVERY shallowly breathing Yeltsin by marriage, and noting his (not Yeltsin's) meeting with Putin two weeks ago, where as today's news stories mention, he must've received Putin's blessing for this mega aluminum merger. (No wealthy Russian businessman will forget a recent Russian oil co debacle which I assume you are familiar with.) This giant deal signals a new peak of consolidation in the mining industry. Probably the smaller alum companies will accelerate their purchases and consolidations BECAUSE: When the TOP DOG grabs more even bones it's a sure sign of belief that the longterm price will RISE SIGNIFICANTLY. $5-$10 worth of "free shares" per share of BPWRF would be a reasonable price for any co. intent on multiplying the cost efficiency and blue sky potential of their existing ongoing aluminum plant plans in Orrissa hint hint!
