Options

OptionsMy concern about options and the manipulation of stock has now been verified in the September - October Canadian Business magazine. (quote) "An analysis of options granted over the past three years by Canada's 60 largest and most heavily traded companies shows a troubling pattern of share prices falling in the days before options are granted, followed by a sharp upturn shortly afterward" As far as I am concerned this is the same as stealing. Manipulating a share price to the sole benifit of senior executives to allow them to walk away with millions of unearned monies should cause an investigation which might stop the current method of option granting. In other words make the person receiving options pay for them at the time the option is granted just as stock holders have to pay for any stock being bought. The orignal purpose of options was to encourage executives to do a better job but if manipulation is now involved it doesn't matter what he does. One other point - why are executives given options in the millions of shares?
