V6C 1H2 Tel: [phone]; Fax: [phone] Trading Symbol: "TAL" CORPORATE UPDATE - August 16, 2006 Dear Shareholder: As per our July 17th, News Release regarding Tri-Gold Resources Inc. and its "Hemlo West" gold prospect, Big Duck Lake, in Northwest Ontario, we are pleased to announce that presently, a work program consisting of trenching, washing, sampling and mapping is continuing along a 5.2 km shear zone which extends west to east through the Big Duck Lake claim block, which encompasses an area of approximately 40 square kilometres. A claim map of the Big Duck Lake property, as well as a map of the shear zone geology with comparison to the Hemlo gold camp, are attached for your reference. In addition to the main zone, the work program is designed to test a series of other shear zones which exist throughout the property, and exploration of these zones will continue during this summer and fall preparatory to diamond drilling in October 2006. The preliminary results of the prospecting, mapping, trenching, assaying and reconnaissance diamond drilling from late 2003 to present, have been very positive (please see our previous news releases) and reconfirms our belief that the Big Duck Lake prospect has many of the same features as the world famous Hemlo gold camp located 100 km west, and where approximately 25 million oz of Au with a value in excess of 12 billion dollars have been produced since 1983. As founder of Falconbridge Ltd., the mining legend Thayer Lindsay, once said, "To find gold go where the gold mines are not where you think they are". To that end the management of Tri-Gold is confident that we are in the right area to find the next "Hemlo".
