Calgary Sun

Calgary SunA relative faxed a copy of an article in the Calgary paper re: Lowes/Rona. According to the article the BB stores need a service population base of 125,000/store. Where Lowes are planning their store launches will bring the BB service area populations down to the 45-50,000 per store. It also discusses the benefit of a Rona takeover for experience in managing independent retail outlets. Lowes is strictly company owned stores in the U.S. A take over seems the logical way for them to proceed. While I'd prefer to see Rona remain a Canadian owned store, I'm going to continue accumulating more in anticipation of a significant rise in price.
