RE: Fireworks just gettingI don’t want to overplay the importance of sample results, mainly because if they fail to meet expectations they can be devastating to the share price. Even when results are good, they are usually forgotten quickly by a market with a very short attention span. This is actually a good thing in the long run because it forces companies to continue moving forward at a pace that keeps the investors connected. The truly big plays are the ones where investor expectations are constantly being rewarded with positive results. ie. Aurelian.
The Baffin Island property has been seen up to now as a highly promising play with disappointing results. If these results from Brent live up to market expectations, it could very well reaffirm the enthusiasm that has been lost over the last couple of years. I have always said that a property like this one needs deep pockets in order to be properly explored. It would be nice if those deep pockets belonged to Commander itself.
The Hermitage property is really starting to come into its own. Given its location, its geology and its history, it’s an explorer’s dream. It can be worked inexpensively all year round and any significant discovery made could in turn be inexpensively developed. The property has already attracted attention, with a decent drill intersection (potentially only weeks away) this play could quickly jump to the top of the heap. I think there could yet be some peasant surprises in results from Chan, Quinlan etc. even before drilling begins.
In the very near future we will have the true picture beginning to form, good or bad. If either of these properties comes through, it will mean some big gains in Commander’s share price. If both do it should give the company the mass necessary to go “super critical”.
