News letter following NKW "Finding extreme value in small cap stocks" www.EmergingGrowthStocks.ca EMERGING RENEWABLE ENERGY PRODUCER Naikun Wind Development $0.33* NKW.TSX-V (Previously Uniterre Res. UNT.TSX-V) 52-wk H-L: $0.13 - $0.55 Naikun Wind Development is planning and developing the largest offshore wind mill operation in the world. It is to be located in the shallow waters between the Queen Charlotte Island and the mainland of British Columbia, near Prince Rupert. B.C. currently imports 14% of its power and expects to double demand by 2020. *Until now, Naikun was a non-publicly trading subsidiary of Uniterre Resources (UNT.TSX-V). In July Uniterre announced it was considering amalgamating with Naikun. This was subsequently approved and Uniterre should begin trading under its new name and ticker as of November 3rd. There are five stages planned of roughly equal size, with the first one consisting of 66 wind turbines capable of generating 320 MW and costing roughly $850 Million. Construction is expected to commence in 2009. All five phases are expected to generate 1,750 MW of power, enough to supply the needs of 600,000 households. A key milestone is approaching. By next spring, B.C. Hydro will conduct its annual tendering process for power generators. The company will be seeking a "PPA" (Power Purchase Agreement) and management believes they will negotiate one next year. This would take the project from the planning stages to the "Bankable" stage and add value overnight, not unlike when a mining company receives its ETF (Environmental Terms of Reference). The heavy hitter financiers will likely line up once this agreement is in place. Getting in before this raises both the risk and the reward we speculators seek. The company has attracted a blue chip board, most of who have been working to advance the project for no salary but the opportunity for a large equity position. There are hurtles left to cross. But I see this as an opportunity to own something very early that could eventually generate substantial cash flow and dividends. The web site is very extensive: www.naikun.ca or phone Peter Murray or Kirk Gamely at Contact Financial, 604 689-7422. UPDATES Nortec Ventures NVT.TSX-V $0.31 I attended management's presentation last week. I stand corrected - the Ganarin property has been drilled - Newmont sunk four shallow holes in it years ago. Mohan says they were just too shallow (only joking that he knows this for a fact). He does claim they are drilling the right kind of host rock, albeit slowly due to its hardness. Which doesn't equate with economic bonanza grades. But encouraging enough to add a second drill. Just remember, Aurelian (ARU $37.00) drilled for five years before they hit the motherload. This is NVT's first shot at Ganarin. Trading volume has picked as traders reposition ahead of upcoming drilling results. All we can be guaranteed of is for plenty of volatility as speculators are either dazzled or disappointed by results to come.
