RE: But why Trelawney?Ignorant? Yes, Canadians often have treated immigrants very ignorantly. The KKK attracted tens of thousands of followers in Canada during the 1920s. Their main targets were eastern Europeans (Galicians, Bukovinians, Ukranians) and Catholics. I personally know a number of descendants of eastern Europeans who changed their names after encountering discrimination in Canada. Names were and remain important. Based solely on their names, how many with Muslim names today don't make the short list when applying for jobs?
