You are quite right. This sort of nonsense has been going on for months and will probably continue until the manipulators decide that they have accumulated enough cheap stock. The only response is to hold tight and not get shaken out. The best asset in trading is patience - lots of it. When you have a good stock then you need to sit on it - just like a chicken hatching an egg. Connacher is not just a good long-term play - it's a good medium-term play too!
