RE: QEC gas in Lowlands!

RE: QEC gas in Lowlands!Considering what the St Lawrence river valley basin has historically produced in Ontario in the vicinity of the great lakes, someone would expect a discovery of comparable significance here in Quebec. Helas... (I presume that the Gentilly well is in the proximity of Trois Rivieres...But anyways...)... Regaring the immediate vicinity of the great lakes; was there in depth exploration done in the lake Ontario and Erie basins with further consideration for what was found in relative proximity such as in Pennsylvania (which is associated with the first discoveries of oil in the 1860's) ? I personally would be curious to know if the Ottawa river basin may hold a certain maesure of promise... As for the most promising areas of the country, apart from where some of their exploration activity is centered, it is apparent that the vicinity of the Hibernia oil field (in relative proximity to Newfoundland) may hold unsuspected promise considering the major oil discovery of the Madeleine islands (in Quebec) some while back which despite the distance on the continental shelf may be in the same oil basin as Hibernia (although I doubt it)...
