RE: World molybdenum output....VENMan
RE: World molybdenum output....VENMan I had hoped that one of the regular and informed posters here rather than me would have responded to your question..... "does ML have any Molybdenum in Proven Reserves? if not will the increase in copper production have molybdenum grades? "
I think that I read on this BB a little while back one poster describe Mercator, in the light of the proposed two stage milling expansion, as really becoming a Molybdenum company. From my review of the proposed production expansion project, currently scheduled to start in Q2,2008 and building in two phases towards target capacity in Q3,2009 I summarize some numbers for Q4,2009 which other posters here may wish to refine or correct if they see a different picture:
Copper:
Heap Leaching 4 million pounds per quarter
Milling process 11 million pounds per qtr.
Molybdenum:
Moly circuit production 3 million pounds(approx. 3% of world supply)
Silver:
Between 300K and 320K oz. silver per quarter
Given the current relative commodity prices one can see how revenues from numbers in this order of magnitude, would generate the view of Mercator as a "molybdenum company" towarsds the end of this decade.
Hope some of this is useful. I recommend review o the pre-feasibility Technical report update published in early January 2007,
