RE: My take on WEDI agree that one should never fall in love with a stock and take your point that the window will not stay open forever. I never the less remain more optimistic. To your point on LCD quality, I saw a few low end ones over at Home Depot the other day in a well lit spot. My first impression was not bad but then I saw a CRT and it was better. Anecdotal of course but still, not prepared to throw in the towel on that front. It is also important to remember that there are three Ps. With respect to cost of manufacturing, do you have any actual numbers on the drop you say has occured. It would be very enlightening. Not trying to pin you down or anything but all I see of late is TV manufacturers crying the profit blues?
As to credible updates, I don’t see much coming from any of my other speculative holdings either. In fact, Westaim probably provided too much detail on their last technical update. This helps market timers and harms those of us who are long on the stock. I take your point on Owen selling however. Would he be selling if a JV was close at hand? Not likely but that as far as it goes. Does it mean there is something wrong with the technology or the company? Not at all. The reason for selling may have absolutely nothing to do with the company. It could be health, marital, investment, or tax woes. It could be something else. Thing is we don’t know why and none of the other insiders are selling which says something as well.
On the JV front, why would they commit until they know it’s a sure thing and someone else may beat them to the punch? As you say, not likely Westaim will go it alone. Assisting Westaim in proving a competing technology undermines their current investment in existing technology? The longer it takes Westaim, the better it is for them.
It would be nice to see the stock drifting up instead of down but ten baggers cost more than a few sleepless nights. You see the glass half empty and leaking. I see it as three quarters full, leaking but with more wine on the way. That’s what makes a market. Hope we all end up with something to drink in the end.
