The Order of Canada awarded to John MayberryNow this is a recipient worthy of the Honour; not like Courtney Pratt who shafted the shareholders of Stelco. Pratt should have had his medal taken away from him over that fiasco.
The former Dofasco Chairman of the Board and CEO, John Mayberry was appointed as a new member to the Order of Canada by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada.
John retired in 2003 and is highly respected for his leadership especially during difficult business conditions in the early nineties.
The Order of Canada is the country's highest civilian honour for service and is awarded on the recommendation of the Order of Canada Advisory Council. It was established in 1967 to recognize outstanding achievement and service in various fields of human endeavour. Three different levels of membership—Companion, Officer and Member—honour people whose accomplishments vary in degree and scope.
