A Convenient Truth? ..... SonnySonny, you said,
"From my understanding of things, the Orion North and the Star Kimberlite both have a huge amount of early Jollie Fu kimberlite.
The Star diamond counts for the Early Jolli Fu, if I remember correctly, come in at around .18 carats/100 ton. If the LDD's for Orion North's EJF come in anywhere near this figure, we will be in the green BIG TIME"
Reflecting back on George Read's presentation at this year's SGS Open House in Saskatoon, where he displayed a graph comparing microdiamond counts from the Star kimberlite to DeBeer's early microdiamond data from Orion N, I'm reminded of that scene in "An Inconvenient Truth" when Al Gore slips into grand sensationalism and dramatically rides high up on a platform to make a mark well above the limits of his graph.
I just can't get that image out of my mind, the one of the histogram George showed, where the Orion N. microdiamond data towered above the microdiamond data from the Star and various other pipes at FALC (and I mean towered). Perhaps that stuck image in my mind has a bit of a Freudian component to it? Sort of like a symbolic 'middle finger'..... perhaps directed at DeBeers??
You also said,
"Well, apparently my reasoning worked last time and the Star's diamond valuations were infact very close to DeBeers' own valuation model for the JV. Now we are forced to ask a very similar question. Will the Star's diamond counts for the EJF be similar to the counts for the Orion North LDD's?"
Similar? Perhaps not. It's that danged middle finger....that danged middle finger.....just can't get it out of my mind.....
