RE: Ice, you''''re right.

RE: Ice, you''''re right......'have life' or 'half-life' of methane? Either way, you're asking the wrong guy. What is said makes perfect sense. You cannot have anaerobic and aerobic digestion happening in the same digester. What I am saying is, can they not work along side each other. Both technologies with the common end goal. IBR will not solve the world's waste disposal problems alone, that is for sure. CCI'contract in Toronto is due for review soon (April 30, 2007). I think that IBR should get in there and have Toronto re-visit the EATAD process. IBR should work TOGETHER with CCI. CCI has NOT solved the organic waste problem entirely but seems to be a step in the right direction. EATAD should be considered part of the process. May 19, 2006 Toronto Staff Report "Conclusions: The Dufferin Organics Processing Facility forms an integral part of our SSO processing system and continues to provide reliable processing capacity within the city limits. The City’s agreement with CCI-TBN for the operation of the Dufferin Organics Processing Facility provides for a second and final year period from May 1, 2006 to April 30, 2007. CCITBN has submitted an alternate proposal which, if accepted by the City, would reduce the operating costs for the period by approximately $250,000.00. Staff believes that the best way to ensure operational continuity is to extend the operating agreement between the City and CCI-TBN and is therefore recommending that the General Manager of Solid Waste Management Services be authorized to negotiate and enter into an agreement to further extend the term by 12 months plus up to three additional 12 month extension options and on terms and conditions consistent with this report and acceptable to the General Manager, Solid Waste Management Services and in a form acceptable to the City Solicitor. If those negotiations do not result in terms and conditions acceptable to General Manager, staff recommends that a call be issued for the operation of the facility for a term of two years plus up to two additional 12 month extension options."
