Flame Petro-Minerals Corp. Announces Acquisition
SEATTLE, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Flame Petro-Minerals Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: FPMCF - news) wishes to
announce that it has acquired a private company, LinuxWizardry, Inc.
LinuxWizardry, Inc. has commenced building a Linux based, low-cost router that provides a simple drag and drop JAVA
user interface for configuration protocol routing called the ``LinuxWizardry Router.''
The LinuxWizardry router will be presented at the Linux World Conference and Expo in New York February 2-4 2000.
Michael Carpenter, a software engineer and previous owner of LinuxWizardry, Inc. will remain with LinuxWizardry as
Chief Information Officer in charge of all future Linux projects including the Linux low-cost router project now underway.
Mike Carpenter, CIO of LinuxWizardry states that, ``My goal is to build a Linux-based low-cost router at a fraction of the
cost of Cisco Systems'' (a current leader in router technology). Cisco sales for the year 1999 were reported at $13 billion.
John Robertson, CEO of Flame Petro-Minerals Corp. states, ``Most small businesses do not have and cannot afford to have a
network specialist on staff to manage the network router. A network expert is very expensive and an unskilled amateur
encounters great difficulty with the current generation of products. The LinuxWizardry router will allow these businesses to
take control of their networks for the first time.''
The benefits of the LinuxWizardry router are:
* Low Cost The router can be produced at an extremely low cost as it
utilizes off-the-shelf personal computer technologies and
readily available hardware.
* User Friendly The LinuxWizardry router has a sophisticated graphical
configuration screen for ease-of-use. Future versions
of this software are expected to be capable of
controlling other Network devices such as router
products from Cisco and firewall products.
* Product Size The LinuxWizardry router would be contained in a package
of less than 2 cubic feet with a distinctive form factor
making the product instantly recognizable.
