NewsAMERIX PRECIOUS METALS Amerix Reports on Nova Brasilia Gold Project, VPR Property, Brazil 3/28/2007 TORONTO, ONTARIO, Mar 28, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Amerix Precious Metals Corporation ("Amerix") (TSX VENTURE: APM)(FRANKFURT: NJG) today reported on the results from the Nova Brasilia Gold Project, located within the Vila Porto Rico Exploration License in the Tapajos Gold Province in Brazil. The Nova Brasilia project is located 10 km northeast of the Company's flagship Ouro Roxo project. During 2006, the Company completed 18 angle core holes including 3096.43 metres of drilling testing historic and active gold mines located along a fault splay off of the regional scale Ouro Roxo-Cantagalo fault zone. Gold mineralization at Nova Brasilia occurs within and adjacent to a north-south trending fault zone that dips steeply to the east. Four historic and active gold mines are located along this structural trend, including the New Aracati, Old Aracati, Amorosa and Ze Caneiro open pits. Initial grab samples collected from these mines contained gold values of 9.5 g/t, 162 g/t, and 29 g/t Au, as reported previously by the Company. Gold occurs in pyrite-chalcopyrite-quartz veins, fractures and sulfidic breccia zones, within the faulted contact between unmetamorphosed granitic intrusions and gneissic metasedimentary rocks. The 2006 drilling program was completed along a 1.2 km long north-south zone, using nine drill pads that were located 100 to 200 metres apart. Each drill pad was used for two drill holes, which were drilled at -50 degrees and -70 degrees from the horizontal, along an east-west orientation. The following contains a summary of the assay results from this program (see attached map): ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Drill Hole Inclination N-S Depth: From - To (m) Intercept - Au (Prefix ANB) Section --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9 -50 10500N 72.0 - 73.7 1.7 m @ 1.2 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 82.0 - 83.5 1.5 m @ 5.9 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10 -70 10500N 54.0 - 55.0 1.0 m @ 1.3 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 140.0 - 141.0 1.0 m @ 1.1 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 13 -50 10300N NSV --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 14 -70 10300N 149.0 - 151.0 2.0 m @ 1.2 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 15 -50 10200N 36.0 - 37.0 1.0 m @ 1.5 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 16 -70 10200N NSV --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17 -50 10100N 61.0 - 63.0 2.0 m @ 3.1 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21 -50 9900N NSV --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22 -70 9900N 183.0 - 185.0 2.0 m @ 1.3 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 192.0 - 196.0 4.0 m @ 2.6 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 220.0 - 222.0 2.0 m @ 2.3 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23 -50 9800N NSV --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 24 -70 9800N 171.8 - 174.0 2.2 m @ 1.5 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 25 -50 9700N 28.0 - 29.0 1.0 m @ 1.8 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 39.0 - 41.0 2.0 m @ 2.0 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 26 -70 9700N 45.6 - 47.0 1.4 m @ 5.3 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 31 -50 9445N 71.0 - 72.0 1.0 m @ 1.5 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 74.0 - 75.0 1.0 m @ 1.4 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 32 -70 9445N 131.3 - 133.0 1.7 m @ 3.2 g/t --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Results and Future Exploration Drill results tested a 1.2 km long gold zone and the best results were obtained in the southern 600 metres of the drilling area. Significant gold values were encountered in the area of drill holes ANB 25 and ANB 26 in section 9700N, located 200 metres north of the New Aracati open pit. Drill hole ANB 26 intersected 1.4 m @ 5.3 g/t from 45.6 - 47.0 metres; however no core was recovered above this interval due to poor drilling conditions in weathered bedrock (saprolite development). The gold intercept is potentially open up-dip and near surface. Drill results will be integrated with surficial geological and geochemical data and additional mapping and sampling will be conducted, prior to planning additional drilling later this year. QA/QC: Sample intervals were calculated using a minimum one metre sample width, and a one gram per tonne low-grade cutoff. One interval of internal or adjacent dilution was allowed, below cut-off values. Drill core chemical analyses were performed by SGS Lakefield/Geosol of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, an ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9002 certified assayer.
