They should have some more news from Quebec before the winter exploration break
Overview
Northwestern is focused on uranium and has put together an impressive, highly prospective land portfolio. The company’s North Rae property in northern Quebec covers approximately 42,000 hectares and Northwestern holds an option to acquire a controlling interest of up to 65%. Surface prospecting has so far outlined a 3.3-kilometre long uranium mineralized zone with values up to 0.59% U3O8 (uranium oxide). The area remains open and coincides with a strong 5.0-kilometre long anomaly identified during airborne survey work. Based on these results, North Rae has significant potential to become Canada’s newest uranium district. In fact, Jean-Guy Masse, President of Northern Precious Metals Funds, recently recommended Northwestern during an interview on Report on Business Television. Among his comments, Mr. Masse said that Quebec is the Canadian uranium region “to watch seriously” and that “the structure they (Northwestern) have found in northern Quebec is a major one.” Northwestern could eventually mean to Quebec what companies like Fronteer Development, Altius Minerals, Bayswater Uranium, Universal Uranium, Crosshair Exploration and Santoy Resources have meant to Labrador’s uranium area play.
The North Rae uranium project consists of three blocks representing 701 claims, with a total area of 31,550 hectares. Northwestern has the right to earn up to 65 per cent of North Rae from Azimut
