RE: Resistance
RE: ResistanceI think blaming shortsellers for a stock's weakness has gotten out of hand and is rather silly at times. There are many reasons for sudden selling, including profit taking and better opportunities elsewhere. Factors which can affect a stock price indirectly can include interest rate jitters, price of oil, political uncertainties, fears of recession, etc etc. A little bit of selling on a down day like today can quickly trigger new sells and result in a small avalanche. It's pointless to worry about - or even try to understand - day to day fluctuations in a stock's price as long as you are satisfied that there is an ongoing upward trend.
It is also worth keeping in mind that the US income tax filing deadline is in 4 days, and the Canadian one a couple weeks later. For people/funds/companies which have a large bill to pay selling stocks is a quick way to raise money at this time of year.
