Hybrid electric vehicle designer Quantum Fuels Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. of Irvine, California recently announced an agreement to enter discussions with Miljo of Norway to develop electric vehicles for Europe and China.
The letter of understanding between the companies stated they will look into a possible joint venture for the design and establishment of an electric vehicle manufacturing plant, design and establishment of a battery pack manufacturing plant, component supplier selection and management, and joint venture funding and management.
Miljo, a subsidiary of Miljobil Grenland AS, had delivered more than 300 electric cars to customers in Norway and worked with Quantum to bring 15 hydrogen hybrid Toyota Priuses for Norway's "Hydrogen Highway" program.
