V.ENP Press ReleaseSwiss Distributor purchases additional water treatment system
GUELPH, ON, April 25 /CNW/ - ENPAR Technologies (ENP.V) is pleased to
announce that its Swiss Distributor, Aqua & Terra, has purchased a specialized
system for remediating drinking water sources that are contaminated with
nitrate.
Dr. Gene Shelp, President and CEO for ENPAR stated, "We are greatly
encouraged by the repeat business from Aqua & Terra, which speaks to the
quality and performance of our products. Limited drinking water resources in
many areas of the world are often prone to nitrate contamination from
agricultural operations. Our leading-edge water treatment system can target
specific contaminants such as nitrate."
It is reported that 40% of groundwater in Europe is already seriously
polluted with nitrate, In Germany for example, nitrate can be several times
higher than the allowable 50 mg/L limit in areas of intensive animal farming.
"The European market is large and offers tremendous opportunity for Enpar
and its distributors" said Dr. Shelp.
Within the human body, nitrates are converted into poisonous nitrites,
which increase the risk of cancer and can lead to methemoglobinemia, or "blue
baby" syndrome. Nitrates are also responsible for over-fertilisation of water
streams, lakes and seas, resulting in oxygen-deficient ecosystems.
ENPAR's suite of water treatment technologies are enabling Aqua & Terra
to redefine its growth strategy and make the transition from managing
predominantly waste water to drinking water issues.
ENPAR is a "Water Technology Company" applying its patented and
proprietary "Electrochemical Technologies" to the treatment waste water and
drinking water contaminated by metals or nutrients i.e., nitrate/ammonia
associated with the mining, metal processing, chemical, agricultural,
municipal and waste management sectors.
