CO-OP ATLANTIC LAUNCHES NEW LOYALTY PROGRAM; FUTURA REWARDS(R) LETS SHOPPERS EARN CASH REWARDS FOR RETIREMENT SAVINGS, EDUCATION COSTS
Eighteen Co-op Atlantic stores in 15 communities across Atlantic Canada have launched a co-branded loyalty program with KidsFutures Inc.'s Futura Rewards, a national rewards program that helps Canadian families save money for their financial goals. The relationship will enable more than 60,000 Co-op members to earn cash rewards on hundreds of products available at Co-op stores (including national brands and private-label products), and the rewards then can be used to save for retirement, education costs, pay off student loans or donate to charity.
Co-op Atlantic acts as a wholesaler and service provider to more than 100 Co-op stores across Atlantic Canada. The Futura Rewards program will be offered to members at the participating stores as a value add to their existing Co-op Member Value program, automatically entitling them to instant participation in the Futura Rewards program.
"We are very excited to be helping these Co-op stores offer Futura Rewards to their members," says Robert Lemoine, vice-president, food, for Co-op Atlantic. "Futura Rewards helps you save for the events that really matter in life. It's about real investments in your family's future. That focus really reflects the Co-op difference."
Co-op grocery stores in the following communities are currently offering Futura Rewards: Charlottetown (two) and North Rustico, PEI; Saint John (two), Moncton (two), Quispamsis, Sackville and Jacksonville, N.B.; New Glasgow, Sydney, Antigonish, Milford Station and Port Hawkesbury, N.S.; and Labrador City, Gander and Lewisporte, Nfld. More Co-op stores are expected to begin offering the program in the near future.
"We are very excited to be able to launch a partnership with a market leader like Co-op Atlantic," says Mark Farrell, president and chief executive officer of KidsFutures. "Not only do we gain our largest grocery partner to date, we also benefit from the fact each member of the participating Co-op stores will be automatically issued a co-branded Futura-Co-op collector card with instant access to hundreds of our product partner offers, as well as dozens of Co-op private label products. Further, their collector cards will also allow them to earn rewards at other participating retail locations, including national chains and local area merchants. This increases the number of active members in our program and has also resulted in a number of new product partners coming into the program."
