2.5 slipeagle I too would like to see a split. It's about time and 2.5 to 1 would be good although 2 for 1 would also be acceptable. As far as mergers are concerned you won't see that happen while we have a minority government. Harper, Dion, Layton and their gang think that there is no competition in canada now and mergers would be bad for the country. Hell, oil companies can get bigger and bigger and gouge the heck out of us but banks aren't allowed to get bigger and be competitive worldwide. All our government people are totally incompetitent and obviosuly do not understand world markets and competition. As a result Canadians Bank's which were once power houses and now minor players in the world. Moreover with US, Foreign Banks and Credit Unions there is more than sufficient compeition in Canada but our politicians are blind to it. Afraid the public may not re-elect them if they let the Banks get bigger. DA's
